They discussed utilizing the resources and culture of Inner Mongolia autonomous region to internationalize the college education there in the context of Belt and Road Initiative.
Yun said he was enthusiastic about expanded cultural exchanges between universities. “International cooperation is of great importance in cultivating talent with global views and developing college education in Inner Mongolia,” Yun added.
The two-day 2nd Arxan Forum is designed to serve as a communications platform for China’s Belt and Road Initiative, aiming at building a community with a shared future for mankind.
It is also a non-governmental platform for dialogue and exchanges that aims to promote Arxan’s economy and grassland culture, serve the national strategy and enhance cultural confidence, said Chen Ke, a member of the organizing committee.
At the previous forum, held in Arxan last September, sustainable development-related issues were discussed. These included how to deal with the political and cultural differences of different countries in terms of regional cooperation, how to build a Northeast Asian community and climate change.
Arxan was listed among the Global Geoparks Network by UNESCO in 2017.
The Arxan National Geopark, in the central Greater Hinggan Mountains, has a land area of 3,653 square kilometers and features an exceptionally dense concentration of volcanic landforms -- including volcano clusters, hot springs, volcanic crater lakes and granite hills.
