IMNU students stand out in innovation competition

Students from Inner Mongolia Normal University won gold at the final of the fifth Internet Plus College Innovation Competition, that took place in Baotou Normal College in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 25.

The competition is a national event organized by the State Education Department, aiming to encourage college students to think outside the box and cultivate their ability to innovate.  

Since the event started in March, nearly 46,000 people from across Inner Mongolia have participated in the 17,000 programs in the competition. IMNU students sent 283 projects to compete with peers, of whom 114 became finalists.

City Guardian, a disaster intelligent control system developed by 22 teachers and students from the School of Geoscience of IMNU, was honored with the Golden Award for its superiority in monitoring, predicting and controlling all kinds of natural disasters in urban areas.

The technology has already been applied in certain areas in the region.
