IMNU co-founds major Mongolian school complex
Inner Mongolia Normal University signed a cooperation agreement on Aug 23 with Hohhot municipal people’s government to co-found the Mongolian School of IMNU, according to local officials.
The plan is for the Mongolian school, which began construction last year, to be a comprehensive school affiliated to IMNU that integrates preschool, primary, and secondary education.
There will be 123 classrooms in 12 buildings that can accommodate 4,950 students of different ages. Modern multimedia classrooms, advanced laboratories and spacious outdoor activity fields will also be constructed to meet the needs of the students.
All the teachers in the Mongolian School of IMNU are college graduates, of whom some 30 percent have acquired master’s degrees.
Feng Yuzhen, mayor of Hohhot, capital city of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, hailed the cooperation as an important step towards upgrading Inner Mongolia’s education system. He urged IMNU to help improve the basic education system in Inner Mongolia and exert regional influences on the national educational reform.
