IMNU holds first Mongolian chess contest
The first Mongolian chess contest for university students was held at Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) on June 2.
Hosted by IMNU sports college and the Mongolian chess association, the contest attracted students from six universities – IMNU, Inner Mongolia University, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia Medical University, Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics and Hohhot Minzu College.
Mongolian chess is a popular game in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and the contest allowed chess fans to play against high-level players from other areas of the region. The contest also provided an opportunity to promote the traditional game to new players.
